The Movember Foundation is committed to protecting your privacy and the confidentiality of any personal information which you provide to us.

This Privacy Policy describes the Movember Foundation’s policies and procedures on the collection, use, storage and disclosure of your personal information in connection with the services that the Movember Foundation provides to you (Services). By accessing this TrueNTH website (Website) and providing your information you indicate your acceptance to this Privacy Policy, as amended from time to time.

1. Collection of personal information:

You may provide information to the Movember Foundation under this Website for a variety of reasons, including: to receive information about prostate cancer decision making, treatment options, diagnosis, diet and exercise, sharing of others’ lived experiences, and management of symptoms; and to receive information about and become involved in the TrueNTH USA initiative.

This personal information may include (without limitation) details such as your name, date of birth, postcode, email address, cell number, gender, race, ethnicity, relationship status, health information and health-related and general lifestyle questions. The choice of how much information you provide to the Movember Foundation is yours and of course if you want to use the Movember Foundation’s Services, the Movember Foundation will require certain information from you in order to provide the Services.

2. How does the Movember Foundation use your Personal Information?

The personal information you provide to the Movember Foundation through our Website may be used by the Movember Foundation for the following purposes:

  • To provide you with information about your prostate cancer treatment, diagnosis and management of symptoms;

  • To involve you in health initiatives;

  • To market the TrueNTH program seeking to improve the lives of men with prostate cancer;

  • To conduct research and analyze statistics, usage patterns, and behavior in relation to the TrueNTH community.

  • To evaluate and further develop the Website and TrueNTH product enhancements.

3. How visible is my information?

If you chose to provide your personal details to the Movember Foundation for use of the Services, your personal information will not be identified, recovered or displayed by internet search engines.

4. Communication preferences:

Where you have agreed to receive TrueNTH communications, the Movember Foundation may use your personal information to send you emails or text messages about the TrueNTH program (including marketing emails) and new Services available on the Website, from time to time. You will be provided with an opportunity in each email communication you receive to decline to receive any further communications from the Movember Foundation.

5. Disclosure of Personal Information

De-identified personal information collected by the Movember Foundation may be shared with any company within the Movember Foundation group and any of it authorized licensees, including the following permitted TrueNTH USA network recipients:

  • University of California, Los Angeles, CA;

  • University of California, San Francisco, CA;

  • University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI;

  • University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC;

  • University of Washington, Seattle, WA;

  • Karmanos Cancer Institute – Wayne State University, Detroit, MI;

  • Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York City, NY; and

  • University of Colorado Cancer Center, Denver, CO.

We may disclose your personal information to our suppliers or other external third parties for analytics and data analysis, for outsourcing some of the functions and services relating to the purposes for which your personal information may be processed by the Movember Foundation, for storage and otherwise to enhance our Services. When we contract external service providers, we may provide them with your personal information, but only to the extent required for them to fulfil that contract, or where you could reasonably expect the Movember Foundation to disclose it to a third party for a particular purpose.

Regardless of where in the United States of America you reside, the Movember Foundation may transfer your data outside of the United States including to Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and the United Kingdom for processing, including analytics and storage. This may result in your data being transferred to a country which has a lower standard of data protection than the United States in which you reside. Wherever your data is transferred, it may be accessed by the courts, regulatory bodies, and law enforcement and national security authorities, according to the laws in the relevant jurisdiction.

The Movember Foundation will not use or disclose your personal information except in accordance with this Privacy Policy unless you have consented to the use or disclosure, or whether disclosure is necessary to prevent injury to life or health, to investigate any suspected unlawful activity or where the use or disclosure is required or authorized by law.

6. Security and storage of your information:

The Movember Foundation takes reasonable steps to ensure the security of all information it collects, including that the information is protected from misuse and loss and from unauthorized access, modification or disclosure. For example, your personal information may be stored and maintained in a secure cloud-based environment, which can be accessed only by authorized personnel. Some of the Services are hosted by third parties located in the United States. However, as no data transmission over the internet or information stored on servers accessible through the internet can be guaranteed to be fully secure, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you send to us or receive from us online.

7. Access, correction and complaints in relation to personal information

Access to personal information

You may request access to your personal information collected by the Movember Foundation. Please send an email to info.truenth.usa@movember.com and we will endeavor to respond as soon as possible and in any event within 30 days of receiving your request. There may be some legal or regulatory reason why access is denied or amendment refused. If this is so, we will tell you why.

Correction of personal information

If you believe any of your personal information held by the Movember Foundation is not accurate, complete or up-to-date, the Movember Foundation will take reasonable steps to correct the information. To request that your personal information be corrected and updated, please send an email to info.truenth.usa@movember.com.

The Movember Foundation is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of any other website or service that is linked to a Website, or for the privacy practices of any third party TrueNTH USA Network Recipient or other service provider that you can access through a Website.
